Auscoast Fire Services is looking for a motivated Fire Services Designer / Draftsperson cadet to join our Sunshine Coast team. We work across a range of fire protection projects, providing design, installation, maintenance and emergency management services for commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure and defence clients. You’ll work alongside our local team and collaborate with colleagues across our Brisbane and Gold Coast branches to help deliver practical, coordinated fire safety solutions.

About the role

You’ll prepare and update fire services drawings and design documentation to support projects from planning through to installation and completion. Working with designers, project managers, technicians, clients and other project stakeholders, you’ll help develop solutions that are clear, buildable and aligned with project requirements and relevant standards. Depending on your experience, your work may include:

- Producing and revising fire services drawings using CAD and/or BIM software
- Supporting the design and documentation of fire protection systems
- Coordinating drawings with architectural, structural and other building services information
- Communicating with project teams, clients, contractors and consultants to resolve design queries
- Reviewing project information and identifying clashes or practical installation issues




- Managing drawing updates and design documentation to meet project deadlines
- Supporting the team through project delivery, installation and completion

About you

You’ll bring a careful, practical approach to design and enjoy working with people across different parts of a project. You’ll ideally have:

- Experience in CAD drafting, building services or fire protection design
- Familiarity with relevant design software, such as AutoCAD and/or Revit (General experience and understanding of this software is required)
- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate drawings
- The ability to interpret project information and apply reldoes evant Australian Standards
- Good communication and time-management skills
- A proactive approach to solving problems and coordinating design details
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team

Experience with fire protection systems, construction documentation or BIM coordination would be an advantage but not required . We’re happy to consider applicants with different levels of experience, depending on their skills and fit for the team.
