Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer is an Australian based role, focused on implementing and customizing Harp’s automation solutions for clients. In this role, the engineer collaborates closely with customers to understand business requirements, designs technical solutions, and integrates AI agents with existing systems and data sources using Harp's platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining workflows, writing and maintaining client business process documentation, troubleshooting issues and ensuring reliable operations for clients, and working with clients to optimize and expand business process automation goals.





The engineer also contributes to the product roadmap, participates in platform reviews, and works with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, security, and observability of deployed workflows.

Qualifications

- Ability to work directly with clients, translate business needs into technical solutions, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Proficiency in services development, including APIs, and integration with external systems.
- Experience using AI models and agent harnesses, such as Hermes, OpenClaw, Claude Code and Codex.
- A good understanding of the performance and limitations of third party models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Alibaba, Z.ai, Moonshot and DeepSeek.
- Experience deploying and running AI models on local infrastructure will be highly regarded.
- Experience deploying and maintaining software in secure, sandboxed or containerized environments, such as Docker or Kubernetes, is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
