Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Building Assessor / Estimator to join our team in a full time, hybrid position based in Loganholme, Queensland.

Salary: $95,000–$110,000 per annum, plus a fully maintained company vehicle, fuel card, tolls and mobile phone.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting residential building assessments, identifying damage, determining appropriate repair methodologies and preparing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates and professional assessment reports.

The role involves regular site inspections across South East Queensland and Northern NSW, working closely with insurers, homeowners, supervisors and trade coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct residential building damage assessments and site inspections.
- Undertake roof inspections where safe and appropriately authorised, following working-at-heights requirements.
- Identify building damage and determine appropriate repair methodologies.
- Prepare detailed scopes of work, estimates, cost breakdowns and professional assessment reports.
- Review engineering reports, plans and technical documentation.
- Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, homeowners and subcontractors.




- Assist with scope variations and technical queries.
- Maintain accurate job records, photographs and documentation in Prime Ecosystem and insurer portals.
- Manage multiple assessments while meeting required reporting timeframes and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards and WHS requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

- Previous experience in insurance building assessment or estimating.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction, building defects and repair methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed scopes, estimates and professional assessment reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Ability to safely undertake roof inspections, with appropriate working-at-heights competency.
- Full Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

- Trade qualification in carpentry or a related building trade.
- QBCC Builder or Supervisor Licence.
- Experience using Prime Ecosystem or similar estimating software.
- Experience working with insurance company portals and reporting requirements.
