Hume Doors & Timber (Aust) Pty Ltd is seeking an Internal Sales Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis at our Thornton NSW location. This is a key position within our client and sales administration function, providing essential support to our sales operations.
The Internal Sales
Clerk will play a vital role in processing orders, managing customer enquiries and ensuring smooth communication between clients and our sales team. This position is crucial to maintaining our high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all details are correctly entered into our system
- Responding to client enquiries via phone, email and in person, providing product information and pricing
- Maintaining and updating customer records and sales documentation
- Coordinating order schedules and communicating delivery timelines to customers
- Preparing quotations and invoices for sales team approval
- Supporting the sales team with administrative tasks and general office support
- Liaising with warehouse and logistics teams to confirm stock availability and order status
- Managing filing systems and ensuring all documentation is organised and easily accessible
- Contributing to month-end reconciliation and administrative reporting
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a sales administration or client services role, preferably within a manufacturing or building supplies environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications,
particularly Excel and Word
- Experience using CRM or sales order management systems
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders and managing documentation
- Solid numeracy skills and ability to handle figures accurately
- A customer-focused approach with a genuine commitment to providing excellent service
