Join a growing plant and equipment hire business

HEXhire is looking for a reliable, hands-on and motivated All-Rounder to join our team in our plant and equipment hire business.

This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery, solving problems and getting involved in all aspects of a business. No two days will necessarily be the same, and we are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, take initiative and help wherever needed.

Working closely with the Business Development Manager and Mechanics, you will play an important role in keeping equipment hire operations running smoothly, ensuring our equipment is ready for customers and helping us deliver excellent service.

Key responsibilities

- Customer service: Assist customers with equipment collections, returns, enquiries and general hire requirements.
- General operations: Assist with stock control, equipment tracking, organising equipment movements and other day-to-day business tasks.
- Safety and compliance: Follow safe work practices and help ensure equipment is handled, stored and maintained correctly.
- Team support: Work closely with the Business Development Manager and Operations Manager to keep the business operating efficiently.
- Yard and workshop duties: Maintain a tidy, safe and organised yard, workshop and storage areas.
- Deliveries and collections: Assist with transporting, loading, unloading and collecting equipment from customers and job sites, where appropriately licensed.
- Assist with equipment preparation: Inspect, clean, prepare and organise plant and equipment before and after hire.
- Equipment presentation: Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to a high standard and ready for hire.





About you

Experience and requirements

- Previous experience in plant hire, equipment hire, construction, civil works, machinery, transport or a similar hands-on role is highly regarded however not essential.
- A current driver's licence is essential.
- Experience operating plant or equipment, and relevant licences or tickets, will be advantageous.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or an interest in machinery is an advantage.
- A forklift licence and experience towing trailers or transporting equipment are desirable, where relevant to the role.
