About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to ensure efficient material sourcing, cost optimisation, and supplier management for our manufacturing and business operations. The ideal candidate will excel in purchasing, planning, communication, and data entry responsibilities, with strong industry knowledge and expertise in procurement best practices, logistics, and international freight requirements.

Experience in electronics/OEM and importing goods from Asia is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP/MRP systems is essential. Negotiating prices will be a fundamental part of this role and communication skills with overseas suppliers will need to be excellent.

Key responsibilities

- Develop procurement plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts in coordination with Production and Finance teams.

- Drive negotiations of pricing/payment terms with suppliers.

- Purchasing of raw materials to support manufacturing - this includes raising accurate purchase orders and subsequent follow-up activities to ensure the goods are delivered to the correct destinations.

- Manage the international import and export of raw components for our contract manufacturer in Texas, securing the best possible pricing and landed cost while ensuring timely and compliant delivery.

- Oversee the delivery and correct scheduling of components, ensuring materials arrive at the right location on time to meet production requirements.





- Management of other supply related purchasing including administrative and operational purchasing for Australian and US companies.

- Serve as Farmbot's main point of contact for communications with suppliers, providing prompt replies to questions raised by domestic and international suppliers.

- Identify cost savings, process improvement and quality improvement opportunities, taking action to implement them.

- Contribute to regular business planning and reporting activities.

- Drive the RMA process with suppliers, for defective or out-of-spec material.

About you

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills ideally with suppliers based in Asia.

- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience ideally in electronics, OEM or similar environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills to enhance stakeholder relations.

- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel/Google Sheets) – must be capable of using complex formulas and conducting in-depth analyses on spreadsheets.

- Familiar with industry standard ERP/MRP systems.

- Analytical mindset, with the ability to drive cost savings and process improvements.

- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Adaptable to changing priorities in a quick-paced environment.

- Knowledge of international freight requirements and logistics experience.
