About Devcos
Devcos International is a Melbourne-based, full-service beauty manufacturing and supply chain partner to leading cosmetics and skincare brands. We manage the full product journey, from concept and formulation through sourcing, production and delivery. We produce at our own facilities in Australia and China and work with a network of partner manufacturers across Asia, Europe and the US.
We’re a family business with a global footprint, and we’re growing.
The Role
This is not a brand-side compliance role. We’re looking for a quality qualified who thinks like a manufacturer: someone who understands what it takes to make a product right, consistently, at scale.
Working closely with our NPD team, you’ll be involved from the early stages of development. You’ll find technical and quality risks early, set up and assess stability and performance testing, and give practical guidance that gets products through each NPD stage and into production without surprises. You’ll also own quality across our supply base, so every product that leaves our network meets specification.
Reporting to Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
NPD & Product Development
- Partner with NPD from brief through to launch, with clear quality inputs at each stage gate
- Find risks early in formulation, packaging, compatibility, scale-up and manufacturability, and propose practical ways to reduce them
- Plan, monitor and assess stability, compatibility and performance testing, and give clear go / no-go recommendations
- Set and validate product and component specifications that are realistic to manufacture and test
- Guide the team on scale-up, process validation and technical transfer to our own and partner facilities
- Coordinate pre-production samples,
PPS approvals and golden samples with customers and manufacturers
Manufacturing & Supply Quality
- Apply GMP principles (ISO 22716 or equivalent) across our own facilities and partner manufacturers
- Support supplier qualification, audits and ongoing performance monitoring
- Review and release finished goods and components against approved specifications
- Lead non-conformance and complaint investigations, root cause analysis and CAPA through to closure
- Manage quality documentation including specifications, COAs, SDS, batch records, stability data and product information files
- Maintain and improve our quality management system, SOPs and document control
About You
- Degree in Science, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or a related field
- 5+ years’ quality experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, ideally cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals or complementary medicines
- Hands-on experience with stability and compatibility programs, and with interpreting the results
- Understanding of how formulation, packaging and process choices affect manufacturability and product performance
- Experience working within a stage-gate NPD process
- A practical problem-solver who weighs risk sensibly and looks for a workable answer, rather than just saying no
- Confident working with overseas suppliers and managing quality remotely
- Knowledge of cosmetic regulatory frameworks (AICIS, EU, FDA/MoCRA) an advantage
- Mandarin or Korean language skills highly regarded
What We Offer
- Real influence over products for well-known global beauty brands, from early development onwards
- Exposure to international manufacturing across Asia, Europe and the US
- A hands-on role with genuine ownership in a growing business
- Modern office on St Kilda Road, close to public transport
