National Halal Accreditation Services Australia (NHASA) is growing, and we're looking for a Shariah Auditor to join our Audit team.

NHASA certifies Australian food manufacturers and exporters for markets including Singapore (MUIS), Thailand (CICOT), Indonesia (BPJPH), Malaysia (JAKIM), the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as DAFF halal meat exports.

In this role you will:

✅ Conduct halal audits at food plants, abattoirs, warehouses, restaurants and butchers

✅ Verify slaughter practice, ingredients, segregation and traceability against each country's requirements

✅ Raise and close out non-conformities and write transparent audit reports

✅ Refer doubtful (syubhah) matters to our Shariah Committee

✅ Support NHASA during audits by foreign halal authorities and DAFF

What you'll need

? Australian citizenship, PR, or a visa with unrestricted work rights, and you must be based in Australia

? Practising Muslim (required by all recognising authorities)





? Qualification in Shariah, Islamic Studies or Fiqh

? Sound knowledge of halal fiqh

? Fluent English (Arabic reading a plus)

? Driver's licence and willingness to travel

Nice to have

⭐ Halal industry, food manufacturing or meat processing experience

⭐ Halal auditor training (JAKIM, MUIS, BPJPH or GCC)

⭐ A food science or related degree, plus HACCP/ISO knowledge

No prior audit experience? If you have a strong Shariah background, we'll train you.
