Biome Innovation is an Australian biotechnology startup developing innovative gut microbiome testing solutions and AI-powered digital platforms. As we prepare for commercial expansion, we’re looking for a creative and motivated UI/UX Developer with expertise or a robust interest in SEO, e-commerce and business automation to help improve our website and strengthen our digital infrastructure.

Internship Details

- Position: UI/UX Developer – SEO, E-commerce & Automation
- Engagement: Volunteer internship opportunity (Unpaid)
- Duration: 3 months
- Commitment: 2–3 days per week
- Work arrangement: Hybrid (remote and in-person)
- Location: Sydney, NSW
- Suitable for: Final Year-University students, Recent graduates (Valid visa & work rights in Australia, Permanent residents &Citizen;)

Responsibilities

- UI/UX & Website Development: Improve website design, user experience, navigation, responsiveness and overall performance.
- SEO & Digital Visibility: Optimise website content, technical SEO, search rankings and organic traffic.
- E-commerce Setup: Improve our online store, product pages, checkout experience, payment integration and customer journey.
- Automation & AI Integration: Identify opportunities to automate business workflows, customer communications, order processing and reporting.
- Inventory Management: Help establish inventory tracking, stock management and order fulfilment workflows.
- Digital Platform Optimisation: Integrate tools and systems to create a more efficient,



scalable digital business.
- IT & Technical Support: Assist with website maintenance, software integration and digital systems setup.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Final-year university students or recent graduates in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Digital Media or a related field.
- An interest in UI/UX design, website development, SEO, e-commerce and business automation.
- Basic knowledge of relevant tools and platforms is desirable.
- A portfolio, university project or previous practical experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
