The Team & Role

We are seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team on a casual, as‑needed basis. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility and is available to work varying hours, including short-notice shifts when required. Hours will be offered depending on business needs, and there is no set roster or minimum number of hours.

As a casual ward clerk, you will be working with high performing teams and departments. You will work collaboratively to foster relationships of kindness, trust and respect with patients, visitors and staff. Provide clerical support including admitting, transferring,



discharging patients as required, reception, telephone enquiries and record management, while ensuring strict confidentiality at all times.

You will make an impact by:

Leading by example with excellent customer service, time management and an aptitude for a variety of systems and software.

Building strong relationships with our patients, staff and volunteers while demonstrating the Bayside Health values.

Providing support to our dynamic fast paced ward clerk teams throughout the Regional Health Service with a can-do attitude.

To be successful in this role:

You should be a quick learner; quick to think on your feet when faced with problems, a multi-tasker, and used to dealing with numerous tasks at any one time. Be able to take direction and work well with the clinical teams that you will support.

- Familiarity with medical terminology

- Computer and keyboard skills

- Typing and Word processing skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, relatives and staff

- Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to enter data when required in a timely manner

- Valid Police Check

- Current Working with Children’s Check

- Healthcare to whom the mandatory vaccination (influenza vaccination) directions apply, will be required to be vaccinated annually
