Casual Medical Receptionist
Richmond Medical Practice – Richmond, VIC

Richmond Medical Practice is a busy bulk billing medical centre located in the heart of Richmond. We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team on a casual basis.

The successful applicant must have experience in a medical practice and be available to work weekdays between the hours 8:45am and 6:00pm, with flexibility to work occasional weekends if required.

About the Role

You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the practice and assisting our GPs in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Managing phone calls and patient enquiries
- Greeting patients and providing excellent customer service
- Managing appointments and patient flow
- Handling emails and faxes promptly and efficiently
- Processing payments using HICAPS terminal
- Medicare billing and familiarity with MBS item numbers
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the reception area and consulting rooms




- General administrative and reception duties

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical centre environment (essential)
- Experience using Best Practice software (essential)
- Knowledge of Medicare billing and MBS item numbers
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and solid organisational skills
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach
