working with us will ensure your professional life is provided every opportunity to succeed and develop in your chosen career role.

About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Make a real difference in the lives of people within your community by joining our dedicated Community Health Nursing team. As a Community Health Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to individuals, carers, and families, delivering a broad range of nursing services that support health, wellbeing, and independence.

You will work closely with clients, families, General Practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement,

and evaluate care that is evidence-based and aligned with Primary Health Care principles and the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards. Services may include wound care, chronic disease management, continence support, and palliative care across community and clinic-based settings.

This varied role offers the opportunity to coordinate care for complex and high-risk clients, support and supervise Enrolled Nurses, and contribute to the learning and development of staff and students. You will champion culturally responsive care, maintain high standards of clinical practice, and help ensure resources are used effectively to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and carers.

Working a 7-day rotating roster, you will enjoy a dynamic and rewarding environment where no two days are the same. Uniform is required to be worn in this role. If you are committed to delivering exceptional community-based care and are looking to join a supportive team that values collaboration and excellence, we would love to hear from you.
