An exceptional opportunity for a mid-level Construction Site Manager to shape the future of Property & Construction in Newcastle.
Newcastle's construction sector is busy right now, with residential and commercial schemes competing for the same pool of experienced site talent. This established, growing SME in Property & Construction has built a reputation on doing things properly: structured processes, defined roles, and enough scale to offer genuine progression. They need a Construction Site Manager who can run sites without needing to be chased.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Managing day-to-day operations across live construction sites in and around Newcastle, from groundworks through to handover
- Coordinating subcontractors, trades and suppliers to keep programmes on track and costs under control
- Running site inductions, toolbox talks and health and safety checks, and holding everyone to the same standard
- Liaising with clients, architects and the wider project team to resolve issues before they become delays
- Monitoring quality against build specifications and signing off work at each stage
- Reporting progress, risks and budget variances to senior management on a regular cycle
Here are the skills you'll need:
- Solid experience as a Construction Site Manager or in a similar site leadership role, ideally within residential or commercial builds
- SMSTS and CSCS accreditation as a minimum,
with a first aid certificate a strong advantage
- Working knowledge of building regulations, health and safety legislation, and programme management
- Confident, clear communicator who can manage subcontractors firmly without creating friction
- Comfortable reading drawings and specifications, and spotting problems before they cost money
- A calm head under pressure. Sites rarely go exactly to plan, and this role needs someone who adapts fast
Key perks and benefits:
- £40,000 to £61,500 depending on experience, plus a bonus scheme
- Private medical insurance and pension contribution
- Generous annual leave with flexible working built around site demands
- Office-based role with clear reporting lines and genuine room to grow into a senior position
- Structured support and professional development within a company that's scaling deliberately, not chaotically
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?
Property & Construction rewards people who can actually deliver, and Newcastle's pipeline of current-build and regeneration projects means demand for capable site managers isn't slowing down. Progress into senior or regional roles tend to come quickly once you've proven you can run a site properly. Few sectors offer this much visible, tangible proof of what you've built.
