The Cheesecake Shop Albury Wodonga is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Albury NSW 2640, this role is fundamental to our operation, as you will be responsible for creating the high-quality baked goods and pastries that our customers love. As a Baker, you will play a vital role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring that every product that leaves our kitchen meets our exacting standards. This position offers the flexibility of casual work whilst contributing meaningfully to our business success.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all baked products meet our high standards for taste, appearance and freshness
- Maintain accurate records of ingredients used and monitor stock levels
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and other specialised machinery
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a clean and sanitary baking environment
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production targets and customer orders
- Prepare ingredients and mise en place for baking operations
- Assist with the display and presentation of baked goods in store
- Support the team during peak trading periods to ensure efficient service
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role within a commercial kitchen or bakery environment
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food preparation methods
- Ability to follow recipes accurately whilst maintaining consistency in product quality
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis with varying shifts as required
- Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Experience with commercial baking equipment is advantageous
