The Chop Shop NQ is seeking a cashier on a temporary 6-month contract.

What we need

- Experience welcomed, but not required

- Strong maths skills

- Customer service and communication skills

- Neatly presented

- Ability to lift boxes up to 15kg

What we offer

- Full time hours - Tuesday – Sunday

- Flat rate, above award - based on experience

- 4 weeks annual leave / year

- 2 weeks personal leave / year

- Return flights to place of employment after 3 months

About us

The Chop Shop NQ is located on Mornington Island,



Gununa which is in the Gulf of Carpentaria, about 444km north of Mount Isa and 28km off the coast of mainland Australia. The island is serviced by a barge weekly and is accessible by air.

Mornington Island is a first nations community, and the Lardil people are the traditional custodians for the land. The island is inhabited by the Lardil, the Yangkaal, the Kaiadilt people, the Gangalidda people, along with the many visitors and workers. Mornington Island is very much an intercultural community.

The role itself is a very unique and rewarding role, and you will have the opportunity to experience a part of Australia that is normally hidden away. You will have the opportunity to learn the local languages and be welcomed into a community.
