This is a well-established heavy engineering and fabrication business in the Tumut region of NSW, within easy reach of Wagga and Canberra. They operate from a fully certified structural steel workshop, ISO 9001 compliant.

They need someone to run the day-to-day QA/QC and get the paperwork back up to standard, then keep it there. Plenty of guidance provided from GM and Snr Engineers, so positive support. NOTE - you won't be building a system from scratch.

This one suits a QA/QC Officer or Coordinator with approximately 3+ years of experience across ISO 9001 in steel fab, welding or structural steel. You should have run an internal audit or two, handled NCRs and document control.

What You'll Be Doing

- System upkeep: Keep the QMS running day to day across ISO 9001, as well as other ISO 3834 and AS/NZS 5131 CC3 standards supporting management.
- Audits: Run internal audits, manage corrective actions, support management reviews.
- Project documentation: Put together project Quality Management Plans and ITPs for workshop and site work, using existing templates.
- Registers: Keep the WPS register and welder qualification records up to date.
- Inspections: Coordinate in-process inspections, dimensional checks and material traceability against drawings and MTCs.
- NCRs: Raise and manage NCRs, help with root cause analysis and follow corrective actions through to close-out.
- Handover: Pull together Manufacturer's Data Records (MDRs) for clients, covering material trace, NDT reports and compliance certificates.
- Document control: Handle revisions,



approvals, registers and client portal submissions, and check incoming mill, galvanising and coating certificates against project requirements.

What You Need

- 3+ years in QA/QC or quality compliance in steel fab, welding, structural steel, heavy manufacturing or construction
- ISO 9001 experience, including running internal audits
- Working knowledge of ISO 3834 and AS/NZS 5131 CC3
- Hands-on experience with NCRs, ITPs and document control
- Able to read engineering drawings and comfortable on the workshop floor with tradies
- Confident using Microsoft Office and document management software
