About the role

Due to growth in the business, we are seeking Casual Educators to join our dynamic team at Oppia Wantirna South This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives. As a Casual Educator, you will support our permanent educators in delivering high-quality childcare and education programs in a warm, welcoming and engaging environment. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of care and ensuring all children receive consistent, developmentally appropriate experiences.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and care for children in accordance with Centre policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements

- Assist in planning, preparing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities and experiences that foster children's development across all developmental domains

- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized learning environment

- Build positive relationships with children, families and team members

- Support children's emotional wellbeing, behaviour guidance and social development

- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by centre policies and regulations

- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

- Uphold and model the centre's values of respect, inclusion and quality care





What we're looking for

- A current, valid Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognized qualification)

- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain this

- A current Working with Children Check

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child development and early childhood pedagogy

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong relationships with children and families

- The ability to work collaboratively within a team setting

- A genuine passion for working with children and commitment to their wellbeing and learning

- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to casual shifts

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- An understanding of and commitment to inclusive practices, cultural diversity and child safety

- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education settings is highly valued
