Key responsibilities

- Manage and maintain the company price file, keeping rates, allowances and specifications accurate and up to date

- Monitor price erosion and margin leakage across the build program, and act before it reaches signed contracts

- Continually analyse and recommend the pricing required to protect margin, and track cost movements against what we have sold

- Prepare accurate estimates, tenders and scopes for new designs, variations and construction methods

- Compare estimated costs to actual job costs, and feed findings back into the price file

- Report regularly to the Building Manager on cost trends, risks and pricing recommendations

- Work closely with the sales, building and administration teams to keep pricing consistent across the business

- Support continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes and data

About you





- Minimum 5 years’ estimating experience with a volume or project home builder, including hands-on management of a price file or cost database

- Proven track record monitoring cost movements and protecting margin

- Excellent analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets and spreadsheets

- Sound knowledge of residential construction methods, trades, materials and costs in WA

- Robust attention to detail, with the commercial judgement to know what matters

- Clear communication, and the ability to hold a firm line on pricing while working well with colleagues

- Experience with Truth Engine estimating software is highly regarded

- Relevant trade, building or quantity surveying qualifications are desirable, but experience counts most
