About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our Earlville store in Earlville Shopping Town. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to manage all aspects of store operations and lead a diverse team towards achieving business objectives. As Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales performance, maintaining store standards, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This position is integral to the success of Cairns Fresh Market and offers the chance to make a real impact on store profitability and team engagement.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee all daily store operations, including stock management, inventory control, and merchandise displays

- Lead, manage, and motivate store staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures

- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators through effective team management and customer service excellence

- Manage staffing schedules, recruitment, training, and performance management of team members

- Ensure the store maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and visual merchandising

- Monitor stock levels, coordinate deliveries, and manage supplier relationships

- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally

- Manage store finances, including budgeting, cash handling, and reconciliation

- Implement and maintain health, safety, and compliance standards across the store

- Drive store profitability through cost control, loss prevention, and waste reduction initiatives





- Build and maintain strong relationships with the local community and develop customer loyalty programmes

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Store Manager or similar senior retail management position within a retail environment ideally with Fresh Produce experience.

- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

- Excellent knowledge of retail operations, including stock control, merchandising, and financial management

- Demonstrated ability to drive sales performance and achieve business targets consistently

- Outstanding customer service orientation with a focus on creating positive customer experiences

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation

- Proficiency with retail management systems and point-of-sale technology

- Sound financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and analyse financial data

- Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations relevant to retail operations

- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays as required by the role

- A proactive problem-solver with robust organisational and time management abilities

- Preferred: Experience in the fresh produce or grocery retail sector
