About the role

Reporting to the facility's ownership group, the GM/DON will have overall responsibility for the clinical, operational and financial performance of Springwood Day Surgery. As the senior leader of the facility, you will balance clinical governance and patient safety with operational efficiency, workforce management, stakeholder engagement and sustainable business growth.

Key responsibilities

- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the day hospital.

- Fulfil the statutory and professional responsibilities of the Director of Nursing.

- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, infection prevention and regulatory compliance.

- Lead accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance with the NSQHS Standards and relevant Queensland private health facility requirements.

- Manage financial performance, budgets, productivity and resource utilisation.

- Develop strong working relationships with visiting medical officers, private health provider and referral partners.

- Drive theatre utilisation, patient throughput and operational efficiency.

- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and staff development.

- Identify and implement opportunities for service growth, business improvement and enhanced patient experience.

- Oversee quality improvement, risk management, incident reporting and clinical outcomes.

About you

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

- Significant senior nursing leadership experience,



ideally within a private hospital or day surgery environment.

- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, accreditation and healthcare regulatory requirements.

- Demonstrated financial and operational management capability.

- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and building positive medical specialist relationships.

- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

- The ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions and balance competing priorities.

- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

- Experience in endoscopy services, private health fund arrangements, business development or hospital management will be highly regarded.
