The Yard Gym Cairns is looking for an experienced, qualified Head Coach to lead our coaching team. This is more than leading workouts. It’s about setting the standard on the floor, developing the coaches around you and creating an environment where members feel supported, challenged and inspired every time they walk through our doors.

About the role:

Working closely with our Studio Manager and ownership team, you’ll lead the coaching team and own the standard of every session. You’ll make sure TYG brand standards are in place, every class is coached and cued with purpose, and every member feels supported. You’ll lead sessions in our RIG and TURF zones in a rapid paced, high energy environment with members ready to work, while helping each coach on the team grow.

This is a 30/hr per week role with a genuine pathway to full-time for the right person.

What you’ll be responsible for:

- Leading the coaching team and setting the tone on the floor
- Upholding TYG brand standards across every session
- Making sure every class is properly coached and cued, from the first demo to the final rep




- Supporting members and building lasting relationships that keep them coming back
- Developing and mentoring the coaching team through feedback, guidance and leading by example
- Supporting the Studio Manager and ownership team with day to day studio operations
- Driving a culture of 1% improvements, for yourself, your team and our members

What we’re looking for:

- Certificate III and IV in Fitness (essential)
- Strength and Conditioning qualifications (essential)
- Proven leadership and team management experience in the Health and Wellness space
- Strong group coaching experience and the confidence to lead from the front
- Someone who brings energy, confidence and genuine care to every session
- Someone who values team culture and community, and wants to actively build it
- Someone who holds high coaching standards and helps others reach them
- Someone chasing that 1% better mentality, every day
