Assistant Store Manager / 2IC — Menswear & Formalwear

The Assistant Store Manager works alongside the Store Manager to run the shop day to day, and takes charge of the floor on the days the Store Manager is not in. The role is hands‑on and customer‑facing, with responsibility for the trading day around that.

Key responsibilities

- Working alongside the Store Manager to keep the shop running smoothly
- Opening and closing the store, and holding keys
- Taking charge of the floor on the Store Manager's days off
- Fitting and measuring customers for hire and sales
- Managing the hire book — bookings, deposits, pick‑ups, returns, and following up what is outstanding
- Coordinating alterations with the tailor and ensuring garments are ready on time
- Stock control — receiving, tracking, steaming, pressing, and maintaining the racks
- Supporting and guiding the part‑time team on shift
- Resolving customer issues — late alterations, missed returns, and changes close to an event

About you

- Previous retail experience is essential
- 2IC, keyholder or assistant manager experience preferred
- Menswear, formalwear or tailoring experience is a strong advantage
- Confident holding the floor independently,



including opening, closing and resolving issues
- Robust interpersonal skills and patience with customers who are undecided
- High attention to detail — accuracy with dates, bookings and alterations is critical
- Available 4 days per week including alternate Saturdays
- Full working rights in Australia
