Achieve Something Great
Join a passionate, supportive, and high-performing team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people and communities affected by alcohol and other drug use across South Western Sydney.
As part of Drug Health Services, the Intake and Community Counselling Team is committed to reducing alcohol and other drug-related harm through the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. The team provides community-based counselling and operates the Centralised Intake Service that supports individuals, families, carers and professionals to access the information, treatment and support they need.
As an Intake Clinician,
you will be at the forefront of service delivery, providing compassionate and timely support to people seeking help. This is a primarily phone-based role, where your ability to actively listen, engage, assess risk, think critically and build rapport will be essential in helping clients navigate their treatment journey.
You will conduct screening and intake assessments, provide brief interventions, coordinate care and facilitate referrals across a broad range of alcohol and other drug presentations. No two days are the same, offering a unique opportunity to develop extensive clinical knowledge whilst making a positive impact from the very first conversation.
More About the Role
Working alongside a highly experienced and supportive team, you will benefit from regular clinical supervision, ongoing professional development opportunities and strong peer support. You will further develop your expertise in intake assessment, risk management, care coordination and service navigation whilst contributing to improved access to care for some of the community’s most vulnerable members.
This is an exciting prospect for clinicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment, value teamwork, enjoy connecting with people and are passionate about improving outcomes for people affected by alcohol and other drug use.
