About the role

We are seeking a New Vehicle Sales Consultant to join Charlestown Toyota on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the automotive sales industry, based at our Gateshead NSW 2290 location. As a New Vehicle Sales Consultant, you will be at the heart of the customer experience, guiding clients through their vehicle purchase journey and helping them find the perfect Toyota to meet their needs. This role is fundamental to our dealership's success, as you'll be responsible for converting enquiries into sales whilst building strong customer relationships that drive repeat business and referrals.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting and welcoming customers to the dealership, understanding their vehicle requirements and budget
- Conducting product knowledge demonstrations and test drives to showcase vehicle features and advantages
- Preparing accurate quotations and negotiating terms to achieve sales targets
- Building rapport with customers and addressing their concerns and objections professionally
- Processing sales documentation and coordinating with finance and administration teams




- Following up with prospective customers via phone and email to nurture leads
- Maintaining detailed customer records and sales data in the dealership management system
- Achieving and exceeding individual and team sales targets
- Staying up-to-date with current vehicle inventory, pricing, and promotional campaigns
- Providing exceptional after-sales support and encouraging customers to return for servicing and accessories

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in vehicle sales or automotive retail, or a demonstrable track record in customer-facing sales roles
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Results-driven mindset with a commitment to achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of Toyota vehicles and product range (desirable but not essential; full training will be provided)
- Proficiency with computer systems and CRM software
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekend shifts as required
- Professional appearance and demeanor
