An alternative education provider in Cambridge needs Teaching Assistants to provide one-to-one support for pupils aged 5 to 18 who are not currently in school. You'll help with literacy, numeracy and practical courses, keep pupils focused, and work with tutors and mentors to prepare each pupil for a return to a school or college classroom. Sessions are based at home, in community venues and at a local centre across Cambridge and nearby villages. Full-time or part time, up to 30 hours a week in term time, with travel time paid and fuel reimbursed.

About the Provider

The provider works with local authorities to support young people aged 5 to 18 who are missing education, including pupils with SEND (autism, ADHD, PDA), young people in care and those who are anxious about, or have been excluded from, school. - Prepare resources for sessions and adapt them for pupils with SEND
- Support pupils on visits to schools and colleges as part of their transition
- Encourage independence, organisation and focus during learning tasks
- Drive pupils safely to and from sessions where needed
- Write short session reports for the area manager and local authority

What You'll Need

- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car with business insurance

- School-based experience as a TA, LSA or HLTA, ideally including pupils with SEND
- Familiarity with phonics, reading interventions and the maths curriculum
- Flexible availability across Monday to Friday, up to 30 hours a week
- Good written English for session notes and reports
- Graduates considering a teaching career are welcome to apply

We're looking for a dependable, nurturing TA who enjoys seeing one pupil's progress up close.
