Working alongside consultants and a solution architect, you will play a key role in uncovering what a client's business actually needs, and then build the software that solves it, with AI at the centre where it earns its place. Unlike a typical developer job, you will be involved from the start rather than receiving requirements as assigned tasks, and you will grow well beyond writing code. You will bring the technical view of what is possible, what AI can genuinely do for the problem and where conventional engineering is the better answer. You will turn that understanding into working software quickly, prototyping with large language models, retrieval, agents and automation, then building it out with full stack development through to deployment and support. You will own what you build end to end, your ideas will shape the solution, and your work will be in production with real users. As AI takes on more of the coding, the developers who lead will be those who understand the whole problem, and seeing every project from first conversation to live support will get you there far faster.

Key responsibilities

- Participate in requirements gathering with consultants and solution architects
- Assess technical feasibility and AI applications for client problems
- Prototype with large language models, retrieval, agents and automation
- Build full stack solutions through to deployment and support
- Own end-to-end delivery of software solutions
- Explain technical trade-offs in plain language to clients

About you

- 2 to 5 years of commercial software development experience in Python, C#, or TypeScript




- Experience building something with LLM APIs that went beyond a demo
- Comfortable in client conversations and able to ask clarifying questions
- Experience with Azure or AWS is helpful
- Experience with data integration or government clients is helpful
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency preferred due to government project requirements
