Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer | Sydney

Bitzios Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer to join our Sydney team. We are a specialist traffic engineering and transport planning consultancy working across a diverse range of projects throughout Australia and Internationally. We have an opportunity for someone who is technically orientated, enjoys working with clients and project teams, and is motivated to help deliver high-quality transport outcomes.

About the role

You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a broad range of traffic and transport projects, with a high degree of autonomy supported by an experienced and highly-skilled leadership team. Depending on your experience and interests, your work may include managing traffic and transport studies, leading major traffic / transport impact assessments, transport modelling, road safety studies and audits, and active and public transport studies. The diverse and challenging role will involve a combination of 'hands on' technical work, project management, client engagement, proposal preparation and mentoring of junior staff, and to contribute to the continued growth of the Sydney team.

We're looking for the right person to join the team and contribute to a positive culture and work setting, share their own knowledge and experience, and provide training and support to our up-and-coming team members.

About You

We are looking for someone with 5+ years' relevant experience in traffic engineering and/or transport planning.



Past experience in a consultancy and demonstrated project management and client engagement skills will be highly regarded. Ideally, you will have:

- A relevant Civil Engineering. Traffic Engineering or related technical qualification
- Strong traffic engineering experience
- Experience in managing projects, tender preparation, client management and in working in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in a private sector consulting environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project leadership / management and influencing skills
- A practical, evidence-based approach to problem solving
- Road Safety Auditor accreditation (Level 2 or preferably Level 3) will be highly regarded
