SYDNEY PRIVATE TUTOR: $30 to $57.50/hr, Flexible Hours, Choose Your Students, In-Person & Online

Job Type: Contract position | Casual position

Job Description

Sydney, your students, your suburbs, your hours. Paid the day you teach. NextStepAcademy is hiring Private Tutors across Sydney, in-home and online, for Kindergarten to

Year 12. Families come to us for one-on-one help in every subject, from primary school support right through to the HSC. We tutor in person in every major Australian city and online across the country.

You bring the subject knowledge and the patience. Our app does the rest. More families ask us for tutors than we can supply, so new tutors pick up students quickly, and online students from anywhere in Australia are available from your first week.

What you get:

- Strong hourly pay: in-person lessons start at $40/hr and online lessons at $30/hr.

Our highest placements pay up to $57.50/hr.

- Paid the same day, not the same month: your pay is released the moment the family's payment clears, usually the day of the lesson.
- A job board, not a roster: current students appear in your app with suburb, subject, year level and times.

Take the ones that suit you, skip the ones that don't. Nobody assigns you anything.

- Zero paperwork: scheduling, attendance, invoicing and payouts all run through the app.

You teach,

tap attendance, move on. No lesson plans to submit, no marking.

- Work for yourself: you are a contractor.

Keep your own private students, tutor for other companies, take a month off over exams. Your call.

- Experience that counts: one‑on‑one teaching with measurable results, and a reference when you need one.

Who does well here:

- People who turn up.

Families book the same time every week and plan their evenings around you.

- Clear explainers with real strength in the subjects they list (you pick the subjects).
- Year 12 completed in Australia, HSC preferred.
- Australian residents who hold, or are willing to get, a NSW

Working With Children Check for paid work (it takes a few weeks, so start it early), plus an ABN (free, ten minutes online).

- A car makes in-home work easier.

Online tutors need neither a car nor a licence. University students and recent graduates welcome. Most of our tutors fit 2 to 10 hours a week around study or another job.

We are looking for tutors who want regular students, week after week, not a one‑off shift. Every NextStepAcademy tutor holds a Working

With Children Check valid for paid work and is a resident of Australia. Child safety comes before everything else we do.
