Senior / Principal Consultant – (Customer Data, CRM, MarTech & Privacy)

I'm partnering with a well-regarded Australian consultancy that helps organisations get real value from their customer data, CRM and marketing technology. They also work in consent and preference management, which matters more every year as privacy legislation tighten.

This is a boutique firm with a specialist team and clients across Australia and the region. You'd have real autonomy and variety, and you'd have a voice in how the business develops. They're growing, and they're now adding a technical leader who can shape the firm's direction and help win and grow client work

The role:

This is a senior, client-facing role between technical architecture and business growth. The title and level will be set around the right person: Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant, depending on your experience and the impact you can make. You'll be the firm's technical authority and the person clients trust to say what will work. You won't be the main day-to-day implementer, and you won't be a salesperson either.

In practice, you will:

- Lead discovery and workshops with senior marketing, data and technology leaders, including CMOs, CTOs and Heads of Data
- Find the real business problem, challenge assumptions, and turn it into a well-scoped engagement
- Design customer data and MarTech solutions across data collection, identity, customer profiles, segmentation, CRM, activation and measurement
- Provide technical direction and oversight, and check the work of the delivery team,



contractors and AI-assisted tools
- Support proposals and technical pre-sales, and grow existing client relationships through insight rather than a sales script
- Bring a transparent point of view on first-party data, AI-enabled approaches and where customer data technology is heading
- Build privacy and consent into practical solutions that work

About you:

- Senior consultant, principal consultant, lead solution architect or senior solution engineer from a MarTech consultancy, digital agency or technology vendor
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing customer data platform, CRM and MarTech solutions, ideally across more than one platform (Adobe, Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics experience is relevant, but your judgement matters more than any certification)
- Practical technical depth: comfortable with SQL, APIs, JSON, schemas and event data, and able to investigate problems when needed
- Experience helping win or expand work through discovery, pre-sales or solutioning
- Confident holding substantive conversations with senior executives
- A working understanding of privacy and consent, and the ability to build them into your designs
- Enjoys autonomy and ambiguity in a small team
- Bonus: experience building repeatable consulting offers, products or AI-enabled solutions
