SPEECH PATHOLOGY THERAPY ASSISTANT LEVEL 2 Receive training from Multi DisciplinaryTeam to teach/coach Support Workers of a disabled young man and the young man, to implement therapy programs/plans correctly and feedback any issues to MDT. The hours will be set but timing will change as needed so adaptable.

Located in the Hills District . Must have own transport, as some weekend and after hours or late night (after 12am work needed to access support workers on a 24 hour roster. ) Calm, confident and gentle nature skilled in using Google Drive and specifically DOCS, FORMS, SHEETS AND SLIDES

Need a smart phone and gmail address be able to follow instructions and implemment them well Suit a person who has an eye for detail and accuracy and may be a speech, occupational therapy or pscychology student.

Key Roles

- Receive training and guidance from multiple therapy professionals to help implement programs.
- Ability to provide guidance and support to support workers.
- Give feedback about strategies.
- Open and proactive discussions with therapists and support workers to ensure the excellent implementation of therapy programs/interventions/strategies.
- Willingness to explore barriers that may be faced in the successful implementation of the therapy programs.




- Ability to complete telehealth sessions where required.
- Resource development and creation where required and guided to do so (cutting, laminating, etc.).
- Awareness of the person's escalation profile.
- If you are a student, we can be flexible with exam periods.

Criteria for Therapy Assistant selection

- Some understanding or interest to learn more about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
- Experience in providing feedback to colleagues about their skills, with consideration of providing feedback to those who may be older than yourself.

Additional Requirements

- Experience in completing reflective practices on your own and/or others’ skills.
- Flexibility to support people outside of usual 9am-5pm weekday hours.
- Own ABN number.
- Experience with Google Drive.
- Ideally to have experience with Boardmaker.
- Employee will be responsible for paying their own taxation.
- Employee should have insurance.
- Speech Pathology Hours: Time for Therapy Assistant to meet with the Speech Pathologist.
- Coaching the TA, reviewing the program, goals, and discussing support worker skills, progress, and implementation. 2.08 hours per week- this is about 1 hour per fortnight with Speech Pathologist for training/handover and 1 hour a week with the support workers.
