Perfect role for a mid professional looking to grow their Property & Construction career in Newcastle.
The North East's construction sector has been quietly stacking up work: residential schemes, commercial fit-outs, infrastructure upgrades. A quick-growing property business in Newcastle needs a Construction Project Manager who can keep sites moving, budgets honest and clients informed. This isn't a business bogged down in nine layers of sign-off. Decisions get made quickly here, and the person in this seat will have real input from week one.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Managing construction projects from pre-start through to handover, keeping programme, budget and quality all on track at once
- Coordinating contractors, subcontractors and suppliers so the right people are on site at the right time
- Running site meetings and reporting progress clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
- Tracking costs against budget and flagging variances before they become problems
- Ensuring health and safety compliance across every active site
- Resolving on-site issues fast, because in a business this size, delays land on everyone's desk
Here are the skills you'll need:
- Solid experience managing construction projects, ideally within Property & Construction in a similar mid-level capacity
- Working knowledge of construction methods,
programming software and health and safety regulations (CDM 2015)
- Confident communicator who can hold their ground with contractors and clients alike
- Comfortable making decisions without waiting for a committee
- Strong organisational skills. Juggling several sites at once should feel manageable, not chaotic
- A relevant qualification (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent site experience) in construction management or a related field
Key perks and benefits:
- Salary of £39,000 to £49,000, depending on experience
- Equity or stock options, so you share in what you help build
- Flexible working hours around core site demands
- Learning and development budget to build toward chartered status or further qualifications
- Based in the Newcastle office, working alongside a small, hands‑on team rather than a distant head office
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?
Construction rewards people who can actually get things done, not just talk about it. Newcastle's development pipeline keeps growing, and a Construction Project Manager who delivers well here builds a reputation fast, one that opens doors across the wider Property & Construction sector. Few industries let you point at a finished building and say you made that happen.
