About the Role

Unmatched Support Services is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to support a participant living with paraplegia and intellectual disability in a High Physical Support SDA setting.

The role focuses on providing person-centred support, promoting independence, assisting with daily activities, community participation, and supporting health and wellbeing needs.

Female Support Workers are preferred. Candidates with nursing or wound care experience will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support at home and in the community.
- Support daily routines, independence, and community participation.
- Assist with transfers and slide-board use when required.
- Follow the participant's current health and wound care support plan.
- Observe and report changes in wounds, bleeding, or other health concerns.
- Support personal care and daily living activities as required.
- Complete accurate progress notes, handovers, and incident reports.
- Follow behaviour support strategies and agreed procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to behaviours of concern.
- Work collaboratively with support coordinators, health professionals, and the wider support team.

About You

- Previous experience in disability or complex support.




- Experience supporting people with physical and/or intellectual disability.
- Confident with manual handling and transfers.
- Calm, patient, reliable, and respectful.
- Robust communication and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to participant choice, dignity, safety, and independence.

Highly regarded: Nursing background, wound/pressure injury care, paraplegia or spinal cord injury experience, SDA experience, and experience with behaviours of concern.

NDIS Requirements

Applicants must meet relevant NDIS and organisational compliance requirements, including:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check/Clearance, where required.
- Working with Children Check, where applicable.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience.
- Completion of required NDIS and organisational induction/training.
- Commitment to the NDIS Code of Conduct and safeguarding requirements.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Satisfactory reference and compliance checks.
