Bundaberg Central

Floor Co-Orinator – Veterinary Hospital

Bundaberg, QLD

Full-Time | 4-Day Working Week | Leadership Opportunity

Are you a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves organisation and knows how to keep a busy team moving?

Sugarland Animal Hospital is looking for a highly organised, confident and proactive Floor Co-Ordinator to take ownership of the daily operations of our busy veterinary treatment room.

Think of yourself as our Director of Traffic – the person who keeps everything moving, everyone informed and every patient receiving the care they need, when they need it.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to someone who thrives on responsibility, communicates exceptionally well and can confidently coordinate multiple moving parts in a dynamic clinical environment.

About Us

Sugarland Animal Hospital is an ASAV Accredited Hospital of Excellence, proudly providing exceptional veterinary care to the Bundaberg community for over 20 years.

With a large, passionate team, advanced diagnostic facilities including CT, visiting internal medicine specialists and a diverse medical and surgical caseload, we're anything but your average veterinary hospital.

Our days are busy, our cases are interesting, and our commitment to exceptional patient care is unwavering.

About the Role

As our Floor Co-Ordinator you'll be the central point of coordination between our veterinarians, nurses, reception team and clients, ensuring the treatment room operates efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Patient Flow & Coordination:

Oversee daily patient movement, procedures, admissions, discharges and treatment room workflow.

- Team Leadership: Coordinate team members, allocate resources, establish priorities and keep everyone working together effectively.

- Communication: Act as the key link between veterinarians, nurses, reception and clients, ensuring everyone is informed and expectations are clear.

- Triage & Changing Priorities: Confidently accommodate urgent cases, same-day procedures and unexpected changes while maintaining a patient-first approach.

- Compliance & Standards: Ensure clinical processes, checklists, patient records, handovers and operational standards are consistently followed.

- Problem Solving: Identify bottlenecks, anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions before problems escalate.

- Accountability: Take ownership of daily operational delivery, follow through on commitments and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

About You

We're looking for someone who naturally takes charge, brings calm to chaos and genuinely enjoys making things run smoothly.

You'll bring:

- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Solid leadership qualities with the confidence to set expectations and hold others accountable.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

- The ability to remain calm, composed and decisive under pressure.

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to compliance.

- Flexibility and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.

- A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to patients and their owners

Veterinary experience would be highly regarded, but is not essential. We're equally interested in candidates with strong operational leadership experience from other fast-paced industries who are willing to learn.

Above all, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, embraces challenges and understands that patient care always comes first.

What We Offer

- A four-day working week

- The opportunity to work alongside an experienced, passionate veterinary team.

- A dynamic and rewarding environment where no two days are the same.

- Exposure to advanced veterinary medicine, surgery and emergency cases.

- Ongoing professional development and leadership growth.

Ready to Take the Lead?

If you're the kind of person who loves organisation, thrives under pressure, communicates with confidence and takes pride in making things happen, we'd love to hear from you!

Apply now with your resume and a cover letter outlining why you'd be a great fit for this role.

Join Sugarland Animal Hospital and help us deliver exceptional patient care, every patient, every day.
