Experienced Dog Groomer

Bundaberg, QLD

Full-Time | Brand New Purpose-Built Facility | Relocation Bonus Available

Love grooming dogs, but tired of running the business side of things? Come and do what you love, and leave the rest to us!

We're looking for an experienced, passionate and talented Dog Groomer to join our team at the brand new Sugarland Pet Boutique, a purpose-built grooming salon and doggy daycare facility in Bundaberg, Queensland!

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful, spacious, brand-new facility with an established and loyal client base, dedicated reception support, experienced management and a veterinary hospital right next door.

No managing bookings. No chasing clients. No marketing. No running a business. Just come to work, groom some gorgeous dogs, and go home!

About Us

Sugarland Pet Boutique is an exciting new addition to the Sugarland family, located right next door to Sugarland Animal Hospital, an ASAV Accredited Hospital of Excellence that has been caring for the Bundaberg community for over 20 years.

Our massive, purpose-built facility has been designed to provide a premium grooming and doggy daycare experience, with a strong focus on animal welfare, low-stress handling and exceptional customer service.

With an established loyal client base, dedicated reception team and experienced leadership behind us, we're creating something truly special!

The Chance

We're looking for an experienced groomer who takes pride in their work, genuinely loves animals and wants to be part of a supportive, professional team.

What you'll be doing:

- Providing high-quality, professional grooming services across a variety of breeds, coat types and styles.

- Delivering a calm, positive and low-stress grooming experience for every dog.

- Using gentle, fear-free focused handling techniques, particularly with nervous or anxious pets.

- Maintaining exceptional standards of hygiene,

presentation and animal welfare.

- Working collaboratively with our grooming, daycare, reception and veterinary teams.

- Building positive relationships with clients and their much-loved pets.

- Optionally getting involved in our doggy daycare activities if you'd enjoy some variety in your working week!

What Makes This Role Different?

We want you to focus on what you do best – GROOMING!

We know how much work goes into running a grooming business. Between managing bookings, answering phones, marketing, handling complaints, chasing payments and keeping clients happy, sometimes there's barely enough time left to enjoy the actual grooming!

At Sugarland Pet Boutique, we've taken care of all of that for you.

Here's what you can look forward to:

- BRAND NEW FACILITY: Work in a spacious, modern, purpose-built grooming salon with quality equipment and facilities.

- ESTABLISHED CLIENT BASE: Benefit from the loyal client community we've built through Sugarland Animal Hospital.

- DEDICATED RECEPTION TEAM: No juggling phone calls, scheduling appointments, processing payments or managing the front desk.

- MANAGEMENT SUPPORT: Experienced leadership to assist with client concerns, operational challenges and day-to-day support.

- VETS RIGHT NEXT DOOR: The reassurance of having an established veterinary hospital and experienced veterinary professionals nearby when needed.

- WORK-LIFE BALANCE: Enjoy being an employee rather than a business owner. Come to work, do what you love, and leave work at work!

- VARIETY IF YOU WANT IT: Interested in doggy daycare? There's the opportunity to mix up your week with other animal-focused activities.

- RELOCATION BONUS AVAILABLE: Thinking about a sea change? We can offer relocation assistance for the right candidate moving to Bundaberg.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident in their grooming abilities, passionate about animal welfare and genuinely enjoys working with both dogs and people.

To be successful, you'll need:

- A minimum of 2 years' professional dog grooming experience.

- Confidence grooming a variety of breeds, coat types and temperaments.

- Excellent animal handling skills, with a gentle, patient and compassionate approach.

- A strong commitment to fear-free principles and low-stress handling.

- The ability to remain calm, composed and professional under pressure.

- Great time management skills and attention to detail.

- A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a team.

- A genuine passion for providing exceptional grooming experiences.

- Reliability, professionalism and pride in your work.
