Lead Project Engineer – Sustaining Capital Projects

Crystalise is seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer – Sustaining Capital to support our client, a leading lithium producer.

This is an exciting prospect to take a lead role in establishing and managing sustaining capital project delivery processes while overseeing a diverse portfolio of capital works across a major mining operation.

About the Role

Working closely with our client's Projects and Operations teams, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple sustaining capital projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The role combines hands-on project delivery with the opportunity to develop and improve the frameworks, systems and processes that will support the operation's long-term sustaining capital requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, development and execution of multiple sustaining capital projects.

- Establish and refine project delivery frameworks, systems and processes to support efficient and consistent project execution.

- Develop project scopes, business cases, budgets and schedules in collaboration with key stakeholders.

- Manage contractor procurement, tender evaluations, contract awards and contractor performance.

- Monitor project performance against safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.

- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Prepare project reports, progress updates and recommendations for management.

- Collaborate closely with site operations, engineering, maintenance and procurement teams to ensure successful project integration.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical engineering knowledge,



proven project delivery experience and the ability to manage multiple work packages in an operational mining environment.

We are looking for:

- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Process, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated project engineering or project management experience within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry.

- Experience delivering multiple sustaining capital or brownfield projects concurrently.

- Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, procurement and contract management.

- Experience developing scopes of work, business cases and tender documentation.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.

- A proactive approach to safety, risk management and continuous improvement.

- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
