About the role

Our family are seeking a gardener and handyperson for our home. We are seeking a very capable person with a wide range of skills who can help manage many aspects of a large private home. The right candidate will have initiative and proactively manage the house and surrounds, but also be willing to work collaboratively with the family.

Key responsibilities

- Responsible for tidiness and maintenance of all external aspects of the house

- Gardening, including lawn mowing, retic management, mulching, pruning, spraying, etc. Where possible, we use organic methods to manage pests

- Managing the compost systems

- Management of the chickens and their coop

- Cleaning of cobwebs, windows, gutters, outdoor paving etc

- Maintaining the pool and surrounds

- General handyman tasks, including picture hanging, small painting/siliconing jobs, furniture assembly, tool maintenance, repairing things etc

- Bike and scooter maintenance

- Maintenance and cleaning of vehicles





- Help keep the dog company and do basic dog-related tasks (occasional bathing or walks)

About you

- Minimum 5 years of experience in either gardening or handyperson or similar, plus proven experience with the range of tasks required

- Demonstrated broad skill set and ability to pick up current tasks quickly

- Discretion and a high level of professionalism in a private home setting

- Experience working in private homes in a similar capacity will be very highly regarded

- Must have own vehicle and the ability to occasionally transport materials required for the job (e.g. mulch, timber, etc)

- Horticultural experience include growing vegetables very high regarded

- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Very strong communication skills, and willingness to ask questions
