About the role

Sage Monroe cafe is seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Mount Hawthorn, WA 6016, this role is perfect for someone who loves crafting quality coffee and creating memorable experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be the face of our cafe, responsible for preparing exceptional beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, welcoming environment. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality setting where your expertise and enthusiasm will directly contribute to our cafe's success.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages to customer specifications

- Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders and other coffee equipment to the highest standards

- Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, providing recommendations where appropriate

- Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace, including the espresso bar and equipment

- Building positive relationships with regular customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere

- Processing payments accurately using point-of-sale systems

- Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels of coffee beans, milk and other beverages

- Assisting with other cafe duties as required, including food preparation and general hospitality tasks

- Adhering to health and safety standards and cafe policies at all times

What we're looking for

- Proven barista experience or relevant qualifications in coffee preparation

- Strong knowledge of espresso-based drinks and specialty coffee techniques





- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour

- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining quality standards

- Attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene

- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to casual work arrangements

- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team

- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and till operations

- A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality is highly desirable
