Enrolled Nurse (EN) – Medical Ear Clinic. Following comprehensive training and under the clinical support of our doctor, you will confidently deliver professional ear services at Ear Clean Clinic, the first dedicated microsuction ear wax removal clinic in the Illawarra.
Clinic hours
Flexible schedule (14 to 29 hours a week). Business hours on weekdays only. No night shifts, no weekends and no public holidays. Enjoy predictable, social clinic hours with your evenings and weekends completely free.
Key responsibilities
- Performing digital examinations of the ear canal and tympanic membrane using video otoscopy, showing patients live before-and-after views of their ear health
- Utilising specialised binocular glasses/microscopes and gentle low-pressure suction to safely extract ear wax and debris through microsuction procedures
- Reviewing patient medical histories, identifying contraindications such as a perforated eardrum, and determining the safest cleaning approach
- Maintaining clinic hygiene and infection control using only single-use instruments
- Educating patients on safe ear hygiene habits, appropriate over-the-counter softening drops, and scheduling preventive care appointments
About you
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- No experience required; role is suited for newly qualified graduates or nurses looking to change their clinical path
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination, a steady hand, patient focus, and a comfortable, reassuring clinical manner
- Up-to-date immunisation records and a current National Police Check
