Crocodylus Park is seeking a reliable, motivated and hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Officer to join our team!
This is a varied and rewarding role, perfect for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and working outdoors.
As part of our team, you'll help maintain and improve the park's facilities, grounds and infrastructure, ensuring a protected, functional and welcoming environment for our visitors, staff and animals.
No formal trade qualifications are required — we're looking for someone with practical skills, a positive attitude and the ability to get the job done!
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the park.
Undertake basic repairs, painting, fencing and handyman tasks.
Ideal to have irrigation knowledge and welding exposure.
Maintain parks acreage.
Assist with repairs and improvements to animal enclosures and park infrastructure.
Identify maintenance issues and undertake preventative maintenance.
Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and groundskeeping equipment.
Assist with recent projects, upgrades and general park improvements.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
Have a positive attitude, work well with a team, and have clear communication skills
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, groundskeeping or a similar hands-on role.
Is confident using common hand tools and power tools.
Has practical problem-solving skills and takes pride in their work.
Can work independently, manage tasks and show initiative.
Is physically capable of working outdoors in Darwin's tropical climate.
Is reliable, punctual and has a robust work ethic.
Holds a current manual driver's licence.
Works well in a team made up of different department structures
Trade qualifications are not essential. Practical experience, versatility and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
What We Offer
