About the position
Whalers Galley Cafe is looking for a capable, experienced and reliable cook and café all-rounder to join our friendly team at Albany's Historic Whaling Station.
We are seeking someone who enjoys working in a busy café, is confident with food preparation and cooking, and is equally willing to assist with coffee making and front-of-house duties.
The ideal applicant will have a mature, responsible attitude, plenty of initiative and the ability to remain calm and organised under pressure. Above all, we're looking for a genuine team player who takes pride in their work and is happy to lend a hand wherever needed.
What we're looking for
Experience working in a busy café kitchen
Good cooking and food preparation skills
Barista experience
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
Reliability, initiative and a mature, responsible attitude
Ability to manage busy service periods efficiently
Willingness to help across all areas of the café
Reliable transport to our Torndirrup location
Hours and conditions
3–5 shifts per week,
offering versatile, regular casual work
Shifts generally begin at 8:30 am for morning preparation
Lunch service operates from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm
Normal finishing time is approximately 4:30 pm
One Friday evening shift per month, finishing around 9:00 pm
The café operates seven days a week, closing only on Christmas Day

A meal is provided each day you work
