Our client is a large, highly reputable Australian Financial Services business with a robust market presence and a well-established finance function.
The role
Looking for a CA-qualified Finance Manager who can hit the ground running on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Sydney.
This is a end-to-end Financial Control role, so you'll own the numbers end to end, but there's real business partnering in it too. Excellent opportunity for someone who wants a meaty contract with valuable exposure across the business.
What's involved
Owning the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations, and delivering accurate results to tight deadlines
Preparing statutory financial statements in line with AASB and Corporations Act requirements
Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and making sure the ledger is clean and well supported
Preparing monthly management reporting packs, with clear commentary on performance and variances
Partnering with business leaders to explain results, challenge assumptions and support decision making
Supporting budgeting,
forecasting and reforecast cycles
Acting as the key contact for external auditors through interim and year-end audits
Maintaining and strengthening financial controls, policies and procedures
Leading or contributing to process improvement and system enhancements across the finance function
Managing ad hoc analysis and reporting requests for senior stakeholders
What you'll bring
CA qualified (non-negotiable)
Strong Financial Control background, ideally at Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant level
Banking or Financial Markets experience highly regarded
Hands-on experience with statutory accounts and month-end close
Confident communicator who can partner with non-finance stakeholders
Full Australian working rights (unfortunately this one isn't suitable for working holiday visa holders)
