MCCI is seeking compassionate and reliable Home Care Support Workers to provide quality in-home care and support to older people in our community.What We OfferA highly supportive and inclusive teamOngoing training and professional developmentThe opportunity to meet and support people from diverse cultural backgroundsPhone and travel allowancesEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their family membersAbout the RoleAs a Home Care Support Worker, you will provide practical, personal and social support to older people in their homes and the community.Duties may include:Domestic assistance: vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, laundry and changing bed linenPersonal care: assisting with bathing, dressing and undressingSocial support: shopping, meal preparation and social outingsTransport: assisting clients to attend medical appointments and outingsSupporting clients with mobility and maintaining their independenceThis is a hands-on, physically demanding role.
You must be able to safely perform personal care and household duties, follow manual handling practices, walk upstairs and lift items weighing up to 5 kg.




The role may also require you to lift a wheelchair in and out of a vehicle.You must be willing and able to travel between client locations.
A pre-employment fitness medical clearance may be required to confirm your suitability for the role.About YouYou are compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting older people.You will have:Experience working in home care or a similar support roleAn understanding of culturally and linguistically diverse communitiesThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and interpersonal skillsThe physical capacity to safely perform the duties of the roleFlexibility and willingness to travel between client locationsFluency in a second language is highly regarded but not essential.Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services or a related qualificationExperience providing in-home careCurrent First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain oneOwn comprehensively insured motor vehicleAccess to and ability to use a smartphoneFlexibility and availability to workAbout MCCIMCCI is a non-profit charity supporting multicultural communities across the Illawarra-Shoalhaven and ACT-Queanbeyan regions.With a diverse team of 300 staff and volunteers who speak 60 languages, we deliver a wide range of services for older people and their carers, people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, young people, and families.MCCI is committed to an inclusive and respectful workplace where all people are valued and have equal access to opportunities to reach their full potential.
