Laser Production Assistant / Forklift OperatorDusty Fabrications Pty Ltd – Queanbeyan East NSWDusty Fabrications is growing its laser production team and looking for a reliable, hands-on person to help keep materials and finished parts moving through our workshop.
Working alongside our Laser Manager and operators, you'll assist with loading and unloading, cleaning and checking laser-cut components, forklift operations, routine equipment maintenance and preparing orders for dispatch.
This is an active workshop role involving regular parts cleaning, material handling and standing throughout the day.
You'll need to take pride in accurate work, follow instructions and work safely alongside others.Key responsibilitiesAssisting operators with loading sheet, plate, tube and pipe onto the laser system and unloading cut componentsCleaning and deburring laser-cut parts to the required quality standardsCounting, sorting,



identifying and labelling components against job requirementsChecking parts for visible defects and raising quality concerns with the operatorsPacking and protecting finished components for collection or deliveryOperating a forklift to load and unload delivery trucks and move materials safely around the workshopChecking incoming deliveries against paperwork and reporting shortages or damageKeeping accurate records of materials, quantities, completed work and dispatch activitiesAssisting the laser operators with routine laser maintenance, checks and equipment care, under their direction and within your trainingMaintaining a tidy, organised work area, including material storage, tools and finished partsAbout youA current forklift licence and practical forklift operating experienceAbility to carry out the physical requirements of the role safely, including regular manual handling, parts cleaning and extended periods of standingGood attention to detail, particularly when counting, checking and labelling partsBasic numeracy and confidence completing records and using easy computer systemsReliability, punctuality and a willingness to follow instructions and ask questions when unsureA practical approach, willingness to learn and ability to work cooperatively in a busy teamExperience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, warehousing or dispatch would be usefulPrevious CNC laser experience is welcome but isn't essential—we'll provide training in our processes and equipment
