About the role
This full-time position is based in ourDubbo officeand offers an exciting opportunity to take your legal career to the next level.
The successful candidate will assist with and progressively take responsibility for a broad range of legal work across family law, criminal law, civil and commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, debt recovery and general legal matters.
You will work closely with the Directors and gain exposure to matters from initial client conferences through to preparation, negotiation, court proceedings and finalisation.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high-quality legal services to a diverse client base
Expand and develop your advocacy skills
Manage workflows and deadlines efficiently
Collaborate with colleagues and lead within the office environment
Meet budget and performance targets
Develop strong drafting and negotiation skills
Drafting affidavits, Statements of Claim, Defences, Cross-Claims, applications and other court documents
Preparing Consent Orders, Short Minutes of Order and other family law documents
Drafting legal correspondence, letters of demand, settlement offers and client advice
Reviewing and analysing briefs of evidence, affidavits, financial documents, police material and other evidence




Preparing subpoenas and responding to subpoenas and notices to produce
Preparing briefs and instructions to counsel
Assisting with interlocutory applications and contested proceedings
Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries and legal advice
Managing electronic court filing and procedural requirements
Liaising with courts, registries, barristers, solicitors, police and government departments
What We're Looking For
Be admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a practising certificate in Current South Wales.
A commonsense approach with a focus on client solutions.
A genuine interest in regional practice and community engagement.
Possess strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be confident communicating directly with clients.
Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Be capable of managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrate initiative, professionalism and reliability.
Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
Have a genuine interest in litigation, advocacy and court work.
Be motivated to develop their legal skills and professional career.
Work directly with experienced senior legal practitioners
Gain extensive exposure to litigation and court proceedings
Develop strong drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills
Work directly with clients
Assist in preparing matters for hearings, mediations and negotiations
Gain experience across several areas of law
Attend court appearances and conferences across regional NSW.
Progressively take responsibility for your own matters
