The Role
As a result of continued growth and the addition of new venues to our portfolio, we are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the successful delivery of events and day-to-day venue operations.
Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for leading front-of-house teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard.
You will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional guest and client experiences while maintaining strong commercial and operational outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership position within a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment, ideally suited to a hospitality skilled who thrives under pressure, leads by example, and is passionate about delivering outstanding events and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Event Delivery
Lead the operational execution of events, ensuring all client requirements are met
Implement and maintain effective event, opening, and closing procedures
Oversee staffing levels, rostering, and recruitment initiatives




Leadership & Team Management
Lead, coach, and inspire food and beverage teams
Support training, onboarding, and ongoing development of staff
Drive a positive team culture aligned with SEG values
Customer Experience
Champion exceptional customer service standards across all events
Build strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business
Provide feedback and direction to teams to continuously improve service delivery
Manage stock control, ordering, and monthly stocktakes
Oversee cash handling processes and event reconciliation
Monitor labour costs and contribute to achieving financial targets
Manage wastage control and reporting
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to OH&S;, food safety, and RSA requirements
Monitor compliance with company policies and legislative obligations
Maintain incident reporting and audit documentation
Ensure venues operate within liquor licence requirements
Venue Presentation
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation
Ensure all staff are professionally presented at all times
Safeguard company assets and manage inventory
About You
You are a proactive and organised leader with a passion for hospitality and events.
You bring:
Proven experience in an operations or duty management role within hospitality or events
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Sound understanding of financial controls and stock management
Knowledge of liquor licensing, RSA, and food safety requirements
Previous experience as Operations Manager or Venue Manager role within a high-end boutique catering and events company or venue will be considered a distinct advantage.
What's on offer!
Base Salary range $80,000 to $95,000

This is a full-time position, working across a 7-day roster including day shifts, evenings and weekends depending on business requirements.
