About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Utility Coordinator to manage utility planning, investigations, installations, relocations and adjustments across construction projects. You will work closely with utility providers, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to identify conflicts early, maintain programme alignment and support safe, compliant delivery.

This role suits a strong communicator with sound technical awareness, excellent record-keeping skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate the planning, scheduling and delivery of utility installations, relocations and adjustments.

- Act as the primary liaison between utility providers, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.

- Review construction drawings, utility plans, surveys and records to identify underground and overhead service conflicts.

- Maintain and update the Utility Conflict Matrix, tracking actions, owners, approvals and resolution status.

- Coordinate investigations and Subsurface Utility Engineering activities from Quality Level D through to Quality Level A, as required.

- Support utility strike avoidance through accurate service information, site verification and coordination of safe work practices.

- Monitor utility works against project programmes, identify emerging risks and escalate potential delays.

- Coordinate permits, approvals,



access requirements and interfaces with relevant authorities and asset owners.

- Facilitate timely resolution of design and construction conflicts to minimise redesign, disruption and cost impacts.

- Maintain accurate records of correspondence, agreements, changes, inspections and approvals for audit and handover purposes.

- Promote compliance with applicable safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

About You

- Experience in utility coordination, civil construction, infrastructure delivery or a related field.

- Working knowledge of water, sewer, gas, electricity and telecommunications services.

- Ability to interpret construction drawings, utility plans, survey information and spatial data.

- Understanding of utility investigation, conflict management, relocation processes and strike-avoidance practices.

- Solid stakeholder-management, negotiation and written communication skills.

- Well-developed planning, problem-solving and document-control capabilities.

- Commitment to workplace health and safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, Trimble solutions, digital utility mapping or mobile field-data platforms will be highly regarded.

- Experience with digital twins, UAV-assisted surveys or major infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
