Open daily, The Dairy Ice-creamery & Milkbar creates a happy fun vibe for people to experience our delicious ice-cream. Located near the Cairns Esplanade, it is a destination experience that showcases our products to locals and visitors alike.

About the role

The Ice-creamery Coordinator assists the Ice-creamery Manager with day-to-day operational functions using a systems approach to ensure a great customer experience, positive site hygiene and key performance metrics are met.

You will be part of a small friendly team and relieve the Manager on his days off and annual leave. This is a permanent long term role with a minimum of 4 shifts per week with the opportunity for additional shifts for the right canditate.

Shifts will be a mix of daytime and afternoon/evening. You must have your own transport and be available for some weekend and weekday shifts as well as Public Holidays as required.

In addition to operational activities, this role will also assist with our social media posting and event organisation, creating the Dairy as a must visit destination for both locals and visitors, whilst promoting our brand's commitment to looking after the land and community.

Key responsibilities:

- Coordinate daily ice-creamery operations, including stock management, food preparation and a great customer experience.

- Roster staff ensuring adequate coverage during peak trading hours and Sales to Wages ratio's are met.

- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards and any other site compliance requirements.

- Maintain and build a happy team, well trained in product knowledge,



service standards and operational procedures.

- To communicate well both with team, customers, suppliers and management.

- In conjunction with Management, create an annual marketing and promotional strategy and key events to drive customer engagement and sales.

- Monitor and prepare reports on sales, staffing and operational metrics

What we're looking for:

- Well presented, fun and bubbly personality with a min 12 months customer service, barista and hospitality experience;

- Strong admin, POS, stock control, financial and system implementation skills;

- Prior experience with upselling and promotion of products and event activation;

- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and any site relevant compliance requirements;

- Social Media savy in ensuring a good digital footprint for the Ice-creamery;

- Excellent organisational, time management and problem solving skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively;

- Demonstrated ability to lead, share knowledge, mentor and motivate team members;

- Ambition to succeed and grow with the business.

- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required in a retail hospitality setting.

- Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
