About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Hotel Manager to join our management team at Caledonian Hotel in North Adelaide. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our hotel. As Assistant Hotel Manager, you will work alongside the Hotel Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, maintain operational excellence, and lead our team with professionalism and integrity. You will be instrumental in achieving our business objectives whilst upholding our commitment to outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day management and supervision of hotel operations, including stock control, staffing, function management, hotel presentation

- Support the Hotel Manager in implementing and maintaining operational policies and procedures

- Oversee staff management and training to ensure all team members deliver exceptional customer experiences

- Handle guest complaints and concerns with professionalism, finding timely and satisfactory resolutions

- Manage staff scheduling, performance monitoring and conduct training and development activities

- Assist with the coordination of special events, functions and group bookings

- Monitor financial performance and budgets within areas of responsibility

- Ensure compliance with health, safety and security regulations throughout the hotel

- Conduct regular inspections of hotel and ensure completion of cleaning, tidying and maintenance tasks





- Support revenue management initiatives and occupancy optimisation strategies

What we're looking for

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a hotel management or supervisory role within a similar hospitality environment

- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff at all levels

- Customer service excellence with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

- Gaming experience

- Knowledge of health, safety and hospitality compliance requirements

- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business

- A cooperative approach to working within a team environment with robust interpersonal skills
