Animal Attendant Wanted: Ophthalmology Specialist Support

King Street Veterinary Hospital – Murwillumbah NSW

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Animal Attendant to work exclusively alongside our specialist veterinary ophthalmologist. This is a casual role, 2 days per week, offering focused experience in a specialist setting.

Key responsibilities

Handling and restraining patients (primarily dogs and cats) gently and securely for ophthalmic examinations and procedures.

Assisting with the preparation of medications and equipment.

Providing clear and compassionate communication with clients regarding their pet's appointment and next steps.

Coordinating client rebookings for follow-up appointments.

Supporting the specialist veterinarian and team as required.

About you

Animal Studies Certificate II qualification is mandatory.

Proven experience in the protected and confident handling of various animals.

A strong willingness to learn new specialist skills and adapt quickly to the role and the team environment.

Eager to develop skills within the specialist field.

Ability to thrive in a specialist consultation setting.

Collaborative and supportive team player.
