Department of the Premier and Cabinet QLD – Brisbane QLD

Join our team as a Policy Officer and drive positive outcomes in a rewarding role.

As a member of our Economic Policy team within The Cabinet Office, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategic policy, provide expert advice to senior leaders and contribute to impactful decision‑making processes. This is an exciting prospect to shape public policy, influence change and make a meaningful impact.

For 165 years, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) has been building the foundations of Queensland, responding to the issues of today while ensuring stability and growth for the future.

A role with DPC offers incredible opportunity - for those ready to make it happen. As the central policy agency for the Queensland Government, our people influence and impact the work at the core of our state's public sector.

For you, in your role as Policy Officer, that means a once‑in‑a‑career experience - to build new skills and expertise, to feel real visibility and ownership, and to truly bring the bigger picture to life. The Economic Policy team within The Cabinet Office supports and advises the Premier and Cabinet on priority areas ranging from energy and infrastructure to education and tourism. We are looking for someone who wants to solve problems, build relationships and get things done.

Why Join Us?

At DPC, you'll be part of a team that leads and connects the public sector, delivering outstanding advice and services that impact Queensland's future. It's in your hands.

As part of our team, you will be supported to achieve your professional development goals.

You will have the opportunity to work in a state‑of‑the‑art building situated on the river's edge. We take pride in offering first‑class facilities to all our employees and we prioritise their wellbeing through our flexible working arrangements and DPC's Health, Safety and Wellbeing program.

Further information:

DPC's primary responsibility is to provide support and guidance to the Premier and Cabinet to effectively deliver on Government's priorities, commitments, decisions and objectives for the betterment of the community.

In this role you will embody and bring to life our strategic principles:

- Bold but faithful.
- Get it done.
- Back the facts.
- Listen and lead.
- Lift each other up.

We're looking for the best suited applicant for this role. To do this, we'll assess your eligibility and ability to meet the requirements of the role (including, where relevant, the way you've carried out previous positions). We'll also consider how you can make contributions to our department and support our commitment to equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.

Further information on the responsibilities of the role is found in the role description.

You are strongly encouraged to review the applicant guide prior to applying.

DPC is committed to working with you to discuss adjustments to ensure you can best demonstrate your suitability for the role.

If you would like to discuss the role or would like additional support/adjustments during recruitment, please contact Riley Byrne, Principal Policy Officer, DPC at ***********@premiers.qld.gov.au or Ph: (07) 3003 9***.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
